Passing on..

I wrote a year or so ago about my aunt who was diagnosed with breast cancer.  She’s since experienced cancer in her bones and other places in her body.  She has fought for six years and almost beat it several times, but after the passing of my grandmother (my dad’s mother) back in March of this year, (whom she was very close with) they found cancer in three places in her brain.  She’s been through the experience of dealing with that until now, and so today, it won’t be but a day or two and she’ll pass on to the next realm of existence.  My heart is wrenching, once again, and so soon…the pain is still so fresh the passing of my own “mother”.. so, I’m thinking of my Aunt and this song by Leonard Cohen seems to fits my emotions at the moment.  The song:

Show Me The Place

Show me the place where you want your slave to go
Show me the place, I’ve forgotten, I don’t know
Show me the place for my head is bending low
Show me the place where you want your slave to go

Show me the place, help me roll away the stone
Show me the place, I can’t move this thing alone
Show me the place where the word became a man
Show me the place where the suffering began

The troubles came, I saved what I could save
A thread of light, a particle, a wave
But there were chains so I hastened to behave
There were chains so I loved you like a slave

Show me the place where you want your slave to go

Show me the place, I’ve forgotten, I don’t know
Show me the place for my head is bending low
Show me the place where you want your slave to go

The troubles came, I saved what I could save
A thread of light, a particle, a wave
But there were chains so I hastened to behave
There were chains so I loved you like a slave

Show me the place
Show me the place
Show me the place

Show me the place, help me roll away the stone
Show me the place, I can’t move this thing alone
Show me the place where the word became a man
Show me the place where the suffering began

Love you Auntie.. I know you’ll find rest in the arms of our loved ones that are there waiting for you.
