I have sorrow traveled
These long many years
The feel of her I know too well
Her depths, her breadth, her fears.
The darkness of her face
Haunts many a night of dreams
And bears down on my eyes
All her ugly lines and seams
If I had one wish granted
Beyond my scope to believe
T’would be the dissolving of sorrow
And again your light receive
